General Features

ITE's multicast WMS solution is based on the digital TV (DTV) broadcasting technology. The technology support both wired and wireless transmission. After TV's analog switch off (ASO), countries worldwide have adopted their own digital TV standards. Among them, DVB-T and ISDB-T are the most popular. The two standards are also what ITE's IC supports. 

The DTV standards are by nature developed for digital audio and video transmission. They bring many benefits when used in WMS. For example, the video is compressed before transmission, which greatly reduces the data rate such that HD or UHD (1080p30, 1080p60, 4K, and so on) digital video signals can be sent over a 6-8 MHz bandwidth. The advanced digital transmission technology such as scrambler, interleaver, error correction, and so on, allows long-distance transmission over the air. The transmission distance can be tens of kilometers and is mainly limited by the power of the power amplifier can output.
